Marching through the Land of Dreams,
I searched in every corner, it seemed,
for the delicious dream I’d had before,
the one I wished to dream of more.
I ignored the cotton candy clouds,
the sugar mice speaking out loud,
the cinnamon dusted apple pie.
Too wrapped up in looking was I.
Then, at length, I awoke,
and ‘twas a while before I spoke
of the chance that I had lost.
For looking for tomorrow, today was forgot.
So dance and spin through your dreams,
greedily drink it all in, for they seem
to come quickly to you, then away.
A reminder to enjoy today.
