Who we are
Why we do what we do
We exist to give girls enough quiet confidence to seize life’s opportunities and make the most of them.
Much of the confidence narrative in Australia is via sport. We want to add creativity to the story. Creativity involves taking risks, removing doubt and facing fears. Actively participating in it, contributes to confidence.
We value quiet confidence in young girls because this is where resilience, humility and an ‘anything is possible attitude’ reside. Confidence we feel is gained, in large part, by ‘doing’ things.
Our way of facilitating this is to create products and projects that encourage ‘doing’.
What the Blog is about
Dreaming big for little Girls is a safe place for girls under the age of 15 to share their stories, images, poems, interviews and videos that they have created.
It started with a successfully crowdfunded “Cookbook by Jane Harbison and 12 awesome girls.” In addition to original works from girls, it is a place for Jane to share the achievements of the girls who seize the opportunities DBFLG creates. Those achievements are mounting.
