A girls bedroom is her safe haven. Giving girls a say in how to design that environment brings an immeasurable sense of joy and happiness to their overall wellbeing.
I ran a poll asking parents what they wanted most for their children. Happiness, was the overwhelming response.
This got me thinking. “How can someone tap into their “happiness” in a tangible way? How do kids know what makes them happy and how can I deliver something that makes this exploration fun and real?”
The interior design workshop was born. Partnering with Virginia Bishop, girls learn the design components of a room that make it feel right. Both of us hope they can take that positive ‘feeling’ with them, recognise it when it crosses their path again and be confident enough to seize upon it. This can be incredibly powerful in personal and professional life.
Sophie Johnson attended our interior design course for girls, “Make my bedroom Mine”. This is what she had to say about her special space and how her design makes her feel.
