We will show your daughter how to tap into her own natural style and gain a sense of self expression.
This groovy little workshop, with award winning interior designer, Virginia Bishop, shows your daughter how to find visual cues to happiness that form foundational skills she can apply throughout life.
It’s for girls 10-15 years old, it’s full of creativity, it’s quality (of course) and because there is a lot of special one-on-one, the class size is limited.
Why are we running it?
I ran a poll among my friends asking what was the most important thing they wanted for their children. To be happy, was an overwhelming response. Because that means different things to different people, I asked each of them to delve a little deeper for me and explain what “happiness” means to them. The feedback was outstanding and I have stored it safely away to draw upon for future reference.
It got me thinking though. How can someone tap into their “happiness” in a tangible way? How do they know what makes them happy and how can I deliver something that makes this exploration fun and real.
Some of you may know I also sit on the board of a girls school. I have been involved in organisations that advance girls and women for many years. My thinking about happiness also coincided with many girls studying for their final exams and deciding on a career path.
You may have heard this from me before, but I believe it is important to love what you do and do what your love. Why? Because if you do what you love, you will stick with it. If you stick with it you will get good at it. If you get good at it, people will reward you handsomely for it. I wish they had told me this at school.
Finding what makes you happy, is at the core of this. What better way to do this, than to design a special space that ‘feels’ just like you. That makes you happy.
It makes us happy that they are creating their own space to feel comfortable in. Thanks to both Jane and Virginia for the inspiration and confidence they have given the girls about interior design.

“Your room should feel authentic”
It's provided insight into how she works. It's been a pleasant experience.

I felt this course would help both of us make a project of her room together once she has designed it.

Who is running it?
Virginia Bishop is an award winning boutique interior designer who cut her teeth in New York and is now back in Brisbane where she grew up.
She believes that whether we are consciously aware or not, our environment has a profound affect on our state of mind. Virginia likes to work with her clients to shape that effect and to make the space authentically theirs. This is why in the design guide we start with asking the girls how they what to feel in their room.
Your special space should reflect you and in doing so create a calming and familiar surrounding. It is her goal to not only deliver an interior that feels like home but also delights at every turn.
Virginia brings over 25 years of local and international business and creative experience to every project. Find more about Virginia at www.virginiabishopinteriors.com.au.
