NEXT Workshop 3 & 4 June 2017

What is this all about?

Design your perfect bedroom.

A groovy little creative workshop with an award winning interior designer.

It’s for girls (10-15yo), it’s full of creativity, it’s quality (of course) and because there is a lot of special one-on-one, the class size is limited.

Why are we running it?

I recently ran a poll among my friends asking what was the most important thing they wanted for their children. To be happy, was an overwhelming response. Because that means different things to different people, I asked each of them to delve a little deeper for me and explain what “happiness” means to them. The feedback was outstanding and I have stored it safely away to draw upon for future reference.

It got me thinking though. How can someone tap into their “happiness” in a tangible way? How do they know what makes them happy and how can I deliver something that makes this exploration fun and real.

Some of you may know I also sit on the board of a girls school. I have been involved in organisations that advance girls and women for many years. My thinking about happiness also coincided with many girls studying for their final exams and deciding on a career path.

You may have heard this from me before, but I believe it is important to love what you do and do what your love. Why? Because if you do what you love, you will stick with it. If you stick with it you will get good at it. If you get good at it, people will reward you handsomely for it. I wish they had told me this at school.

Finding what makes you happy, is at the core of this. What better way to do this, than to design a special space that ‘feels’ just like you. That makes you happy.

But I am not creative!

This is for anyone, whether you think you are creative or not.  Our guest designer has over 25 years experience both in Australia and overseas, so you are in safe hands. How perfect is it to be allowed to experiment in a safe, fun environment and be guaranteed to come out with something GOOD, because our guest designer will be there every step of the way!

Who is running it?

Virginia Bishop is an award winning boutique interior designer who cut her teeth in New York and is now back in Brisbane where she grew up.

She believes that whether we are consciously aware or not, our environment has a profound affect on our state of mind. Virginia likes to work with her clients to shape that effect and to make the space authentically theirs. This is why in the design guide we start with asking the girls how they what to feel in their room.

Your special space should reflect you and in doing so create a calming and familiar surrounding. It is her goal to not only deliver an interior that feels like home but also delights at every turn.

Virginia brings over 25 years of local and international business and creative experience to every project. Find more about Virginia at www.virginiabishopinteriors.com.au.

She was recently appointed President of the Queensland Interior Decorators Association, and winner of a 2016 HIA Brisbane Interior Design Award.

Virginia is also a Director of Zonta Brisbane City Heart, a club that works to empower women and girls through service and advocacy.

Tried to book my daughter and her friend in for toowoomba sessions but only a single left – she won’t go alone! I have registered as interested so hopefully this will let me know if there’s another session available at some time? Thanks!

    Hi Jane,
Our daughter is at Glennie and would like to attend. Saturday is our preference though either day should suit.
Could you please advise if there are still any openings? If so we will book.
